Superiority

A Prestigious School of Over 100 Years: being one of the oldest schools in Okanagan Region, OCS boasts a traditionally strong academic program and a group of experienced and caring teachers.

Small class size: the teacher to student ratio is 1:8 for the whole school and 1:5 for the high school classes, and thereby students and teachers get to know, and every student gets more attention and tutoring from their teachers.

Strong Academics: On CTBS (Canadian Test of Basic Skills) OCS students tend to perform at or above grade level. On Provincial exams (that have or are being phased out) the students perform at or above the average level for independent schools in BC which often score higher than those of public schools.

Great Service Related Opportunities: the school provides students with opportunities of being involved in service activities in the school, community or in other countries. In the last 3 years, the students have participated in 2 mission trips respectively in Philippines and Nicaragua. This serves to help the students develop a sensitivity to the needs of others and become active participants in making their community and our world a better place.
