IB World School: St. Jude’s Academy is an IB school accredited by IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization). And it is the first full IB

accredited school in Mississauga, Ontario.

Graded ESL Courses: The school has opened up graded ESL courses specialized for international students and IB courses. One-on-one

academic coaching is also available in the after-school program. Senior students are required to take IELTS preparation courses to prepare

for applying to top universities. Students are always being supported in St. Jude’s.

IB Courses


IB (International Baccalaureate) Curriculum

IB, also called as International Baccalaureate, is an elemental international non-profit educational foundation managed by International Baccalaureate Organization. It is founded in 1968, and more than 5,100 schools so far (by 2020) have been authorized to teach IB curriculum. In Canada, there are 388 (by 2020) public and private schools providing different levels (PYP/MYP/DP) of IB curriculum, among which 1/3 of them are located in Ontario.

Students at IB world schools are taught in a systemically and professional curriculum with a unique international horizon. IB can help students to develop into a comprehensive personality. In order to become an IB member, school must complete an authorization process and been evaluated in the items of school faculties, facilities, reputation, etc. The IB offers a standard curriculum for all its IB member schools; all teachers are IB certified; all the examination paper are unified under the IB standard. The examination paper of students is usually evaluated by teachers from other countries, which can ensure the standard reputation and qualify of IB curriculum.

IB course is more difficult than the standard courses prescribed by the Ontario Ministry of Education, and also it won highly credibility. The advantages of IB courses are strong academic, enable students to form international thinking, independent learning ability, etc. Students have the opportunity to participate in various education projects which are beneficial for leading them go to world class top universities. By virtue of the learning of the second language, students could have stronger cultural consciousness; acquire the capability of interpersonal communication in the global and fast changing environment.
